CANAAN, CT stands at the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and northeast of the Hudson Valley in peaceful Litchfield County.
Stunning and serene vistas reveal themselves all around as you drive our windy roads. The view from our house alone includes warm-colored sunsets each evening as the sun retreats beyond the mountains in the distance.

Outdoor Activities
Horseback Riding.Our beautiful scenic area holds beautiful equestrian centers in which persons can schedule riding lessons and reinvigorate an old healthy hobby or try something new!
Haystack Mountain. The 34 foot high stone tower at the summit of Haystack allows visitors to see Long Island Sound, the Berkshires, and peaks in Massachusetts and New York. Climb in the early evening for majestic sunsets.
Moon In the Pond Farm. This educational non-profit farm is the perfect way to take advantage of your time in the Berkshires and connect with the land. Accepting volunteers of all levels, volunteer one day a week, or just one day.
Bartholomew’s Cobble. This enchanting National Natural Landmark is located in Sheffield, MA just North of the state line. There are trails along the Housatonic River populated only by ferns, wildflowers and wildlife.
Butler Sculpture Park. This seasonal outdoor sculpture park is only one of a few single-sculptor designed parks. On forty acres, a gentle path takes you around 45 large-scale sculptures nestled among the greenery. On most days you'll see the sculptor Robert Butler actively working in his open studio. Stop to say hello as he loves to answer questions about his work.
Skiing and Snowboarding. In the winter months our area is a hub for ski enthusiasts. Butternut, Catamount and Mohawk Mountain are all a short drive from Eden Hill and a fun opportunity to go on a day trip with fellow residents.
Wellness
Yoga. There are six separate yoga studios within 20 minutes of Eden Hill offering everything from vigorous flow to passive restorative yoga.
Kripalu. The benchmark of excellence in Wellness and Yoga practice. Kripalu offers special programs, classes, wellness weekends, and more.
Farmer's Markets. Every local town including Canaan has a weekly market. Featuring local produce, artisanal treats and often live music. During the winter Great Barrington's farmer's market heads indoors for special Holiday Farmer's Markets.
Music, Movies, Museums and More
The Norman Rockwell Museum. Norman Rockwell called our little part of the world his home and it greatly influenced his iconic art. Downstairs at the museum view every single Saturday Evening Post cover he ever created, and upstairs view the main collection along with wonderfully curated special exhibitions (which this year included a purview of Hannah Barbera's Saturday Morning programming and a comparison with Andy Warhol.)
The Moviehouse. An independent movie theater in nearby Millerton, NY that shows everything from the major blockbuster films to local indie films.
IS183. A unique arts school offering classes for jewelry making, painting, creative writing and more.
Four Brothers Drive-In. A clever and kitschy 1950s-style drive-in with a modern twist playing all new releases along with the classics for Throwback Thursday. Order food on your phone to be delivered to your car.
Shakespeare & Co. The legendary Lenox theater that performs Shakespearean classics as well as contemporary plays.
Warner Theatre. Northwest Connecticut’s largest performing arts center located in historical downtown Torrington, CT boasts a full schedule of different events including musicals, comedy shows, opera films, ballets, and other performing art events.
Gilson Café & Cinema. Enjoy dinner and a movie at the charming historic Gilson in Winsted, CT. The Gilson shows both new and old arthouse films and provides full meal service at your seat in the theatre!
